Nicollet Island Pavilion: Building improvements project begins this week

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is excited to announce that construction will start on repairs to the iconic Nicollet Island Pavilion.

The first phase of updates begins in early November and includes new roofing, insulation and masonry repairs. The cupola and main part of the building will be reroofed, including new shingles and new insulation. In addition, repairs will be made to the parapet masonry and new gutters, downspouts and flashing installed.

Further work to the green-sided cupola is planned for a later date.

There are no planned building or road closures in the area at this time, but please stay away from areas under construction, follow onsite signs, and do not move, climb or go around fences.
