EAST BANK BIKE RACK PROGRAM
Free Bike Racks for East Bank Businesses
The East Bank Neighborhoods Partnership is expanding access to bicycle parking across our neighborhoods—and we’re inviting local businesses to take part.
Through a combination of EBNP grant funding and the City of Minneapolis’ Neighborhood Bike Rack Program, we are offering free bike racks and installation to eligible businesses throughout the East Bank.
There is no cost to participate.
How the Program Works
The City of Minneapolis offers a 50/50 cost share program that covers half the cost of bike racks and installation .
EBNP is using dedicated grant funding to cover the remaining portion—allowing us to offer this opportunity at zero cost to participating businesses.
Once you express interest, EBNP will:
Coordinate with you to understand your site and needs
Work with City staff to assess feasibility
Identify the appropriate rack type and placement
Oversee installation
Our goal is to make the process simple, streamlined, and fully supported from start to finish.
What Types of Bike Racks Are Available?
A range of rack styles may be considered depending on your location, including:
Standard sidewalk (hoop) racks
Hitch/post-mounted racks
Multiple racks for higher-demand areas
Options for different finishes and colors
Final placement and style will be determined in coordination with City guidelines and site conditions.
Who Should Apply?
We encourage interest from:
Retail businesses
Restaurants, cafés, and bars
Offices and service providers
Mixed-use buildings
If your business has frontage along a public sidewalk or space near your entrance, you may be a good candidate.

Building a More Connected East Bank
This effort is part of EBNP’s broader work to improve mobility, support local businesses, and enhance the public realm across the East Bank neighborhoods.
By working together, we can create streets that are more welcoming, accessible, and vibrant—for everyone.
