Nicollet Island Pavilion building improvements continue this spring
Updates coming soon the green-sided Nicollet Island Pavilion cupola
Repairs to the Nicollet Island Pavilion continue this spring.
Work on the green-sided cupola (pictured above) will start soon. Existing wood siding on the cupola will be removed and replaced with Hardie Board siding, which will be similar to the wood siding in color and overall appearance. The "Nicollet Island Pavilion" lettering on the cupola will be repainted when favorable weather allows, likely in April. The work on the cupola has been reviewed and approved by the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission.
This phase of updates also includes ongoing work to install new roofing, insulation and repair masonry, as well as new gutters, downspouts and flashing.
There are no planned building or road closures in the area at this time, but please stay away from areas under construction, follow onsite signs, and do not move, climb or go around fences.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appreciates the public's patience while this building is repaired.
