Public invited to attend upcoming public hearings in June

The public is invited to attend an upcoming public hearing as part of the municipal consent process in Fridley, Hilltop, and Columbia Heights for Central Ave. Northeast from 37th Ave. to I-694. Meeting times and locations are as follows:

A public hearing in Minneapolis will take place later this year for the portion of Central Ave. Northeast from University Ave. Southeast to 37th Ave. Northeast.

The Municipal Consent public hearings are part of the formal approval process for each city to officially approve or reject the design plans. The public can voice their opinions about the project at the public hearings. Once city council approves the plans, it can move into the next phase of design. Representatives from MnDOT will present information about the project from 37th Ave. to I-694. The roadway layout will also be available for viewing at each of the meetings. Following the presentation, the public will be invited to provide verbal comments. More about this project

We are collaborating with local agencies and the public to create a new road design for Central Ave. (Hwy 65) between the Mississippi River and I-694. As part of this project, we are working closely with Metro Transit on the integration of the METRO F Line, a planned bus rapid transit line that will provide improved transit service on the Route 10 corridor.

Construction for this project is scheduled to start in spring 2028.
