COMO CORNER GARDEN

Located at the intersection of Como Avenue SE and 22nd Avenue SE, the Como Corner Garden transforms a small but highly visible corner into a vibrant pollinator habitat and neighborhood landmark.

This garden is cared for by Southeast Como volunteers who work together to plant, maintain, and steward the space throughout the growing season. What was once an underused patch of turf has become a colorful garden that welcomes neighbors, brightens the streetscape, and supports local wildlife.

The garden features native plants and pollinator-friendly flowers selected to thrive in Minnesota’s climate. These plantings provide nectar, shelter, and habitat for bees, butterflies, and birds while adding seasonal color and texture to one of the neighborhood’s busiest intersections.

Pollinators play a critical role in healthy ecosystems—supporting 90% of flowering plants and 75% of our food crops. Gardens like Como Corner help create a network of small urban habitats that make a big difference for biodiversity.

This space continues to grow and evolve thanks to the care of volunteers and the support of the community.
