Background
Over the last several years, MPRB has considered possible updates to the Naming Policy that would address interest in naming for donations, names that no longer meet the mission and values of the MPRB, equity in naming, and identification and approval of indigenous names for parks or park assets.
The draft policy was published for public comment between September 15, 2025, and October 30, 2025. Community provided feedback into this policy during the 45-day public comment period. The draft policy has been updated with possible changes to respond to comments received. Community can provide additional comment during the public hearing.
