INTRODUCING ROUTE 827,A BRAND-NEW ROUTE IN THE NORTH METRO
Starting Dec. 6, 2025, Metro Transit will begin service on a new bus route – Route 827 –connecting the cities of Anoka, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Fridley, and Minneapolis. This local bus route will replace Route 852 and expand service south of I-694 along East River Rd. in Fridley and along Marshall St. in northeast Minneapolis, enhancing the route by providing increased accessibility and more reliable service in the north metro.
Buses will run every hour and service will be available:
Weekdays: 5 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Trips will run every 30 minutes south of Foley Park & Ride from 6 - 9 a.m. and from 3 - 6 p.m.)
Saturdays: 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
There will be no service on Sundays
Service Overview
As part of Metro Transit’s plan to transition from Northstar commuter rail to expanded bus service, Route 827 will replace train service between Fridley and downtown Minneapolis. It will also improve connections between Anoka and downtown Minneapolis, allowing more customers to travel to key destinations, such as Anoka County Technical College, Mercy Hospital-Coon Rapids campus, Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Northtown Transit Center, Foley Park & Ride, Fridley Park & Ride, and Northern Stacks industrial park, while providing new access to residents, local businesses, and green spaces along Marshall St. in northeast Minneapolis.
Route 827 connects with several popular routes at Northtown Transit Center, including routes 10, 25, 805, 824, 860, and Metro micro: Blaine area zone. It also connects with key crosstown routes in northeast Minneapolis – routes 30 and 32 – improving your access to and within downtown Minneapolis.
